Competitive Sports

July 31 2010

Chloe had netball this morning and as usual her coach wanted to take her off at half time to make room for another player to go on the court. All season she has done this and all season we have lost to the other teams. I decided this morning I had enough of this and confronted the coach about her reasons for doing this, I demanded to know why it was not being shared around and was told because it was the decision that made at the beginning of the season. I told the coach this was to stop and she had to share it around the coach got quite huffy because I threw a spanner in the works. For the remainder of the game she kept saying because of my complaint we were going to lose the game for sure. Infering my daughter was the cause of the loss. Unsurprisingly really Chloes team won their game with quite a large margin and the coach had the audacity to turn around and say I knew we would win this week. I could have slapped her.

In other sports news Jackson won his game of soccar this morning and is now into the semi finals. I really think they are good enough to get into the finals this year. Unfortunately the kids decided since they have made it into the semis the parents should play a game at the end of the season vs the kids. Im a little concerned about this since I have never played soccar lmao.

Have to get ready for work now

Who Needs Their Butt Kicked?

July 28 2010

I took Bryon to squash last night so I could have someone to practise against before my coaching session on Thursday night. Within 5 minutes on the court I was getting told you don't stand there to hit the ball, You don't hit the ball like that, You don't hold the racquet like that etc etc etc. Not sure where he got these tips considering hes never played Squash and never had coaching. Everything I have learnt in the past few weeks may as well have not bothered learning if my dear husband is to be believed. I am beginning to understand why you see tennis players for example throw their tennis racquets out of sheer frustration because last night I nearly threw my rather epensive racquet at something hard (i.e Bryon's head) because I got that angry. After 30 minutes of this carry on I walked off the court and gave my racquet to my son and told him to go play squash with daddy while I slumped in a corner and nearly cried.

Bryon and I have finally decided moving to the city is a good idea and I have started job hunting, Once I have a job through there we will put the house on the market. Today I am going to apply for a Journalism internship with Fairfax Media and a Graphic Design job with Allied Press. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that I will at the very least get an interview.

I have to go put the leg of hogget in the slow cooker for dinner so I will blog again soon. “.

Sporting Week

July 26 2010

I went to my first Zumba

Latin Aerobic Dance Craze
session tonight, was alot more physical than I expected and because I am so uncoordinated the jurys still out on whether or not I will go to another. Im just not to sure if its me.

I have just started squash so at least I have that to get fit. Currently I am getting coaching for that but hopefully soon I will be good enough to play in the Monday night club games I have to pratise my forehand as my coach feels my backhand is quite good.

I have watched a few good movies lately Jumper and Knowing. I am hoping the next movie I watch will be The Taking of Pelham 1,2,3. I thought jumper was alot like the tv series Heroes so for anyone who has not seen the movie but likes heroes I would defeniatly recommend it.

With the school holidays being over the kids are back into the sport full time again. I have seen a huge improvement in Chloe's netball the last two terms she is playing consistently in Goal Shoot and Wing Defence and seems to be doing very well. I am really hoping she might get the trophy for most improved at the end of the season if she doesnt I will have to buy one and get it engraved for her. Jackson's trophy shelf is starting to fill up so I would like her to have bragging rights to at least one.

Well it bed time here and I am very tired so I will call it a night

One of life's great ironies, is that very often the "stuff" you're trying to avoid right now
is the same "stuff" you're going to miss most once you move on.

A Day for Tears

July 10 2010

A day for happy tears because Pete Bethune
Pete Bethune - Sea Shephard
Anti Whaling Protester
arrived home on New Zealand soil this morning.

A day for sad tears because someone I know died after brain surgery.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father who knows him best.

When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

Blaaaaaaaaaaaah

July 8 2010

I ended up having to cancel going out Saturday night due to the flu getting the better of me. So I ended up spending the afternoon and evening on the couch watching Night at the Museum 2 and New Moon. Im looking forward to seeing Eclipse now.

Good news for Pete Bethune
Pete Bethune - Sea Shephard
Anti Whaling Protester
yesterday with the news he has been released on a 2 year suspended sentence by the Japanese. It will be exciting for him to return to New Zealand in the next 24- 48 hours. Was a little disappointed to hear the captain of the Sea Shephard report in the news today tho that kicking Pete Bethune off future missions with the Sea Shephard was just a ploy to get him off a jail sentence, They could have waited till he was safely out of the country before saying such a thing. So like most New Zealanders I will be waiting with bated breath for Pete to make that walk into the Auckland Arrivals Lounge.

Got my daughter enrolled with Kip Mcgrath today she will start getting the extra tutorlage starting the first Wednesday back of the school term.

Well Vampire Diaries is about to start so I had better sign off here.“.

Quote of the Day
The one thing "bad days" have over "good days," is that they're completely optional.

The other thing "bad days" have over "good days," is that they usually make you think things you've never thought before. Which is probably why people choose them.

Happy 4th

July 3 2010

Bryon and I are going on the Taeri Gorge
Taieri Gorge Train - Southern Dunedin
New Zealand
train this afternoon for Bryon's work social. Usually when we go on his work trips we would take our car so we have the option of when to leave, But this time we have decided to go on the bus with Bryon's workmates. Its not really my idea of a good time but it means we can both have a few drinks and not have to worry abiout driving home. You can go the train goes to a place called Middlemarch and we will stop there and have dinner. We are having Steak and ham on the bone and veges. Im not really interested to much in the menu so will have to order something seperate.

I hope you all have a wonderful July 4th.
